Where I live, I often come across what some would consider quite the exotic reptile.
Laying poolside soaking up the sun, their eyes pierce straight through me. Leaving me mesmerised, our starring competition is often disrupted when my two feral dogs spot them.Things turn into a panic for both me and the dragon. Too many times, they have belly flopped beside me as I float in my pool. Truly scaring the bajeebus out of me. I get it. Of coarse because of their name but also strategically, this is a brilliant move. My dogs hate water. But not for me because I do too when there is a giant reptile swimming centimetres from my face.
They get so close. The beauty within the face and pattern in their scales is mesmerising.
So, I just wanted to share some of the friends that have visited me with you.
All photography done by yours truly. Me.
(ps. I felt as though the seagull was staring into my soul and I hope you feel the same.)
